Flooded Vehicles

Driving through high water can be devastating to your vehicle, it can damage electronics, engine, transmission, differential, and interior. Fixing the damage a flood has done to a vehicle can often be costly and very time consuming.  Wards Mobile Mechanic  recommends not attempting to start your vehicle until it has been assessed by a mechanic. When the electronics get wet it can cause them to short circuit. Water acts like a conductor and can cross your power and ground, it can short out computers (BCM, ECM, PCM), modules, electric motors (window, sunroof, electric seat, etc.), relays, starters, alternators, or your battery. In the event that your interior becomes wet it is not a good idea to let it stay wet very long, it can quickly mildew, rust the floorboards, and evaporating water can penetrate any surviving electronics or interior parts not already affected. Use a shop-vac to remove as much water as possible from the carpet, seats, door panels, center console, glove compart

Brakes

If you are hearing a squeak or squeal it is most likely because your brake pads and/or brake shoes are worn down, as they are designed to do. This is the best time to get your brakes checked as at this time you probably only need new brake pads or shoes. If  you are hearing a loud grinding noise when you are braking you have warn your brake pads down to the metal backing of the pads or shoes and have probably started to grind into your brake rotors or drums. In most cases you will now have to replace your pads and rotors or shoes and drums. If you do not get it repaired now you will end up having to replace you calipers and/or wheel cylinders and bleed your brake system because after your metal backing wears down it will spit out the backing and start to stop your vehicle with the calipers pistons. or you will lose all of your brakes do to it pouring out all of your brake fluid from behind you calipers piston which is bad so give US a call or text and get a free quote before it's

Timing Belt

A broken timing belt isn't something anyone would want to have, auto manufacturers recommend replacing them between 80,000 and 160,000 miles depending on the car. So what happens if you miss that bit of scheduled maintenance? Well, the outcome generally isn't pretty. Let's say your car happens to have an interference motor, like a large number do ( see list ), and your driving along the freeway when suddenly your car just dies, maybe you even heard a clunk. Now you're stuck on the side of the road with a very damaged engine, damaged may be putting it lightly. When the timing belt breaks on an interference motor the camshaft stops moving, but the crankshaft is continuing, the cam is holding your valves open and the piston hits the open valves, bending them and thus destroying your engine. You will be stuck with 3 options; 1) Replace the engine 2) Rebuild the engine or 3) Buy a new car. So you see, spending a little money on the preventative maintenance of your vehi
